Vacation!!!

OK!! I know I have not been blogging and I apologize... I am on the cusp of a long needed vacation... I promise to get some much needed pics and new stories so stay tunned.
I am going to the St. Christopher's carnival tonight which is much like a high school reunion. (Big Fuckin Beers!!!) you know what I mean the draft fest beers!!! holy shit!!
Then I leave this weekend for the lake.. We have the wave runner which is cool but we can't run it on our lake right now cause the water level is so high they have a No Wake rule in effect until the water level drops enough... Rich Mother-fuckers with their million dollar homes on the lake who don't want use low lifers with water toys to be able to tear around the lake and create waves which pretty much erode their yards .... So I guess I really can't gripe... But Fuck !!!

So I have been keeping active at work and the gym.. Just went to "Motley Crue Fest" Wed. night and it was excellent!! Vince hit his notes. I guess The last time I saw them he was pretty rusty well they ironed that out and sounded great.. Poor Nick Mars still freaks me out... He looks dead!!!!
OK I have to play Taxi driver and drop the little one off at her friends house for a party....
She just better not be drinking!!!
So stay tuned for after vacation posts...
LAter Bitches!!

Corporate America

OK, I hope nobody or not a lot of people from my work place reads this due to the graphic nature of the topic... Corporate America, which is pretty much Pornographic because it sucks ass.. I actually think corporate America is a phrase or title thought up by Upper management to hide behind because they are to chicken shit to stick up for their own beliefs... Too many times now I have heard of caka mamy excuses for unrealistic attempts at business ideas or people not standing up for their beliefs or their errors... If you have an idea stick behind it and say it's my idea.. If it fails your human.. if it succeeds your doing your job.. Don't blame it on someone else.. take the hit like a grown up... I am stuck in corporate america right now and man it's mind boggling how the basic concept of being a service provider is lost.... Our job 1st and foremost is to provide service.. But it is being neglected by trying to re-invent the wheel... I am probably babbling right now because of frustration with my job and the fact that, that frustration has driven me to drink 4 Icehouse beers which will be the next post for my Beer Buzz this weekend.. Icehouse It's a mutha-fucka!!
Any how... Bosses who won't stand behind ya, People going back on their words even the gas prices are outta control... why?? Corporate America!!! There are reasons why things can't be said outright in the job place now-a-days with this sue happy world we live in.. but come on people, tell the truth... In Nam they brought in 1st lieutenants who hadn't a clue what was going on in the jungle.. it failed miserably.. Now we are going throught the same thing... people being put into place due to a college education which is an attempt to re-invent the wheel..What about the people who stayed at the job thru thick and thin and did the work and learned the in's and out's of the business while Theadore went to Harvard? So he should get the job or the right to tell you the correct way to do it!! or be given the abality to not even give your ideas a listen!!!. Mom and pop shops are being bought up to try this money hungry price raising push for the future!!! BHLA!!! I just can't stand it!!! Oh well care to comment.. go ahead I will answer any and all questions thanks for letting me vent without getting too much to the point or naming names.. Much like corporate america!!! ( I stopped capitalizing it because I don't believe in it!!!)
FUCK!!!!

Beer Buzz

Ahh an oldy but a goody!! Old Milwaukee beer from Jos. Schlitz Brewwing company. I purchased a twelve pack of this just because it was $5.49 a 12(er)!! It was getting close to the date on the bottowm of the can.. When I delivered beers for a Miller sidtributer in Chicagoland here Ohh about 14 years we used to use an spray deoderant to wipe that date off the cans of beers that got close to the date but don't tell anyone I told you that.. Anyhow not a bad beer but not a real good one. Light on taste no real aftertaste or anything that distinguishes it from other beers. It bosts " Americas Best tasting beer" I don't know if that is self proclaimed or a title given by National Lampoons or what? Usually they will give a award date and Beer fest name or what ever with that type of selling pitch. If it's cheap buy it if not forget it..
I have to throw more trash today as well as yesterday and I noticed Heff's trying to cut in on the beer tasting although he sticks with the newer beers which is fine by me.. I have had the Land shark he tested in his last blog and I agree it is good but over priced and not a real brew, but lets see what kind of beers I grab for this weekend.. Uhmmm

Back to the basics

Well we all are at some point in our life right now .. Correct? We all traveled a road or path that got us here right? Some times it's good for us to re-visit those roads we have taken to our present point in life and re-evaluate our travels thru life thus far...
OH Fuck!! I am babbling....
I had to go and throw trash the last 3 days!! Not by choice either well listen to my story... This time of the year in the trash industry is what we call Yard waste season.. To make it short and sweet we have to hire additional drivers to pick up the yard waste which is leaves, grass clippings and small twigs. In this eco system conscious, tree hugging, bio friendly, global warmed reason to protest day and age!!! We are doing our part as waste haulers by diverting anything we can from going to the landfills ie; recycling and or Yard waste. That is why it is picked up in a separate truck and not thrown in with the regular trash headed to the landfill.
OK trash haulers 101 complete lets move on. I being in the management portion of the business in a supervisory setting.. in about February this year started planning on how many people (drivers) we need to hire to cover our daily routes and was totally ignored... next we started hauling a new town and I voiced my concerns on the fact that they bid it with not enough men and trucks to do it... I was ignored and sequestered!!! So I had to sit back and let this thing blow up. I have been working here at this facility for over 10 years and have been a leading force of where it is or where it was 2 months ago.. Now I have to let it get all fucked up just so people can see that it was being done correctly...People won't take my word for it or even give me an ear to be heard with!!! So I sat back and watched things fester and get screwed up.. I watched drivers work 12 plus back breaking hours and still had to let this happen... Well it is hard to let something you care about fall apart just for this reason and then the bombs started to drop .. drivers got hurt, drivers got sick we didn't have enough drivers to cover the routes soooo I had to go out and throw trash..
Now I don't know if you people realize how difficult of a job this is... You think Oh Big Bill has got muscles, he is strong... Well yes I do but it's not all strength. in fact some of my better drivers are the middle size guys who can move quick and keep moving for twelve plus hours!!! Wed. I threw 5 tons of Yard waste which was back breaking. Bags of wet grass weigh up to 75 lbs so figure out how many 50lbs bags on average it would take to make 5 tons or 10,000lbs.... Uhmm like 200 bags... On average!! So that was the first day someone else drove while I hung off the ass-end of the truck and jumped down and threw the Yard waste.. Oh yeah and I was also in the town of .... well it's just North of the Commanders dwelling... Thursday I went out and threw 10 tons of trash on a rear load truck much is like the one in this picture here.. Now remember our trucks run with only one guy on them.. The guy drives the truck to the pile stopping as the truck just passes the pile so it's at the back of the truck where you load said pile into the hopper or back of the truck... We have right hand drive trucks which makes it driver friendly but only so much. There are 23 steps from the stand up side door to the back and back to the steering wheel. I did about 450 or so homes that day.
On Friday I went out in a Front load truck and threw 15 tons!!! It's easier on a front load truck because eth bucket is in the front. This means less steps to the work!! Oh yeah some of you might have a toter or cart or can you rent from your Hauling company. It is much like the ones Menard's or local Hardware stores sell for about $75.00. They are big and plastic and the trucks have these mechanical things on them called Toter Tippers!! that lift these heavy ass cans up when they are full of trash.. I had one of those on my front loader .....but it was broken and would not lift any toters for me.. (the reason it was broke was because I broke it Thursday!!) Dumbass!! That was why I had a rear loader Thursday!! I took a route that didn't have a lot of toters on it but they still had a hundred or so and man that was a little difficult. Like I said I am strong and can move some weight with my muscle but to do it over and over and over takes a different kind of strength..It takes a different kind of mind set and different kind of driver... Which I guess I still possess. So after three days of this type of labor I am tired, real tired and sore, real sore!! Keep in mind there are piles of stuff out there like in the picture above. This time of the year people clean out garages and sheds and basements and put it out to be hauled away!!
I have a meeting with my boss and his boss on Tuesday so I am trying to figure out what to say diplomatically so I am heard and not shut up or sequestered.
So this is the point I am at right now... the beginning of where I started in this industry and I ..... I like it.. It makes me feel good and brings me back closer to the driver and their issues which makes me a better manager..
I believe that I will be throwing again next week until we get new or more drivers... Wish me luck and you can Kiss my tired asssss!!
Happy Holiday Bitches!!!

Beer Buzz

Hey beer drinkers..
Not much on this beer. pretty obscure.. I found it up in Wisconsin at a pretty normal grocery store. Not very steep in price. It is brewed by City brewery?? I have not heard of them before and will do more research on them. I actually think they brew a few different beers that we all know and love..
So La Cross Lager.. I liked it. Plain simple good old fashioned beer. Old time lack luster presentation.. Which is kind of nice, Today too much emphasise goes into the packaging of a product more so than the quality of said product like the taste of a beer. I will definitly drink this beer when up at the lake tooling around on the Rica Marie so look forward to seeing this one again and again. It was only like $8.00 a 12 pack of bottles when Miller and Bud products are going for $12.00.
Later bitches..

Beer Buzz History

The G. Heileman Brewing Company of La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA, was a brewery firm that operated in 1858-1996. It was acquired in the latter year by Stroh's, and its independent existence ended. From 1872 until its acquisition, the brewery bore the family name of its co-founder, brewer Gottlieb Heileman.

Other key brewery CEOs in the life of Heileman's were Heileman's son-in-law and successor, Emil T. Mueller, and Russell Cleary.[1] Mueller introduced what was to become Heileman's leading "premium" beer label, Heileman's Old Style Beer, in 1902. Cleary headed an acquisition and consolidation effort in the 1970s and early 1980s that gathered a significant percentage of old-line brewery names and intellectual properties into the Heileman family. After doing this he lost control of the firm to Alan Bond of Australia.

Bond, who already controlled the Tooheys name and beer interests in Australia, hoped to build a worldwide brewing combine. Lacking cash, he financed the acquisition of G. Heileman with junk bonds. The collapse of Bond's financial empire led indirectly to the end of Heileman's existence as an independent brewer. After further consolidations, G. Heileman's brewery names and intellectual properties became part of the Pabst Brewing Company, the current owner (as of 2007). Pabst oversees the brewing of several well-known Heileman brands, including Old Style and Special Export, under the G. Heileman name.

Historic U.S. brewing names that were consolidated into G. Heileman during its final years include Blatz, Blitz-Weinhard, Drewry's, Grain Belt, National Bohemian, Olympia, and Rainier. At its height the Heileman's combination was the third largest brewer in the United States, behind Anheuser-Busch and Miller.

As of 2007, the former Heileman's flagship brewery in La Crosse is owned and operated by the City Brewing Company. The new brewery chose to use the name that the former Heileman's used as its startup name in 1858-1872.

This is actually the first beer purchase I ever made underage and solo.. A case of Heileman's Special Export.. I thought I was bad ass!!!! I went up to the counter like what the fuck, how much for this beer? and got away with it. As I pulled out of the parking lot of E&S liquors in beautiful Posen IL. I neglected to turn on my headlights and got pulled over!!! I shit a golden HoHo right there.. I thought I was toast. The cop was a black chick and didn't even see the case sitting in the back seat she was more concerned with my safety and wanted me to keep my lights on.. Yeah cause the beer was not going to help my vision!!!
Anyhow not a bad beer. Much like Dog Style.. Er a I mean Old Pile or aa Old Style which I like.. Special Export has a good beer flavor to it kind of slight for the malt and hoppyness. What gets me is it has a lot of carbonation.. I guess to give the beer that "CRISP" flavor and me heartburn!!
Not much else to report I am more than likely gonna try a different beer this weekend up at the lake.. Lets see what kind of old piss they sell up there!!!!
